Reviews/Feedback:
Having had recurrent, sometimes severe vertigo over a period of 35 years, I've found meclizine as Dramamine to be the most convenient, and, considering lack of side effects, to be the most useful of all the antiemtics available. While other drugs have worked better for me for nausea, they all have the side effect of profound sedation. Meclizine (as Dramamine 25 mg or as Antivert, 12.5 mg) has worked very well, although sometimes does not entirely obliterate vertigo; it at least improves it to the point that I can function adequately.
It tastes gross, but works extremely quickly. The worst side-effect is the drowsiness, but it isn't the worst thing in the world.
I have had a terrible migraine for 5 days. Last night I tried Dramamine thinking it would take away some of the nausea I'd been experiencing. To my surprise in about an hour the migraine was gone! I've just woken up to find that even the tightness in my neck is gone too! During the course of the past 5 days I have used the following to treat my migraine; Imitrex, Excederin Migraine, Phosphorus, A homeopathic migraine med from Whole Foods, Tai Chi and a visit to my Chiropracter. Each of the remedies worked to lessen symptoms temporarily, but left me with a tiny pressure that eventually returned as a migraine. I am clear of symptoms now and I had to share. I will post again if I find anything else of interest.

I take Dramamine for motion sickness (airplane, car, boat rides) and it works well. I prefer the Non-drowsy one though because it does tend to make you sleepy.
Gravol for insomnia I find that when I need a bit of extra sedation at bedtime, taking 2-3 50mg tabs of Gravol works like a charm.

However, if you rely on it and take it too often, it will not work. Been there, done that. It is not addictive, but you can build up a tolerance if used too often.

So, I use it once in a while (one every two weeks or so) to help me sleep. And I wake up refreshed.

Not everyone has the same sensitivity to Gravol as I do, so it may or may not work for you.
Effective against nausea caused by food intoleranc As far as a food intolerance reaction caused by amines is concerned, this one really hits the nail on the head.
Not only helps against nausea, but also other symptoms of my food intolerance reaction such as headaches, general achiness and that awful "fluey" feeling.
The only negative is the sedation. Definitely can't drive after taking it but it's great for night time. So long as you don't need to be alert the side effect isn't too bad.
I have noticed that if I take it a few nights in a row it will lose a little effectiveness.
Also available in Australia as Travacalm (with caffeine to try to counteract some of the drowsiness)
Helpful but Tricky I've taken dimenhydrinate on and off for many years, and it has helped me sleep at least half the times I've taken it. It sometimes causes a slight hangover and minor morning vision problems. But since I've become a hard-core insomniac, it sometimes results in strange dreams and is rarely effective any more.
gravol shots I get very nauseaus with every migraine headache. Gravol pills don't work, neither do the suppositories so I have to go to Emergency to get shots. I have to get up to 75mg once to twice each episode sometimes up to 3 days in a row or by IV with fluids as sometimes I can't keep anything down.
Gravol shots work great but sometimes they don't work on their own and the doctor has to give me 25 mg of phenergan with gravol as the 2 of them together work great.

I find it hard though to keep going for gravol shots everytime I have a migraine as I have so many and the nurses are tired of seeing me in emergency all the time but I have no choice as I have to fight the doctors just to put me on something stronger (pill wise) to stop coming in for shots all the time. Finally a new doctor gave me Halodol but sometime it alone doesn't work and it really gets frustating when you are in so much pain and throwing up at the same time. I don't think anyone really understands just how you really feel!
Very effective product. I no longer fear long drives or boat rides since i started taking this product in 2001. It works for me much better than Gravol... It causes extreme drowsiness within the first hour but after that I am fine.
