lipitor keeps the cholesterol down
works well for me I take half a 10mg tablet once per day. Dramatically dropped my cholesterol numbers, maybe not so great on triglycerides. No side effects I notice, but my doc checks enzyme levels now and then to be sure. Since my insurance covers it, I don't really know what it costs. Not sure exactly when I started taking it, but it's been several years.
The Dark Side of Statins (Lipitor) ANYONE taking statins, especially Lipitor, should be aware of potential risk of liver damage and contracting polyneuropathy. Any dosage should be monitored closely and physical changes: muscle cramps, tingling in hands and feet, fatigue, difficulty walking and memory loss MUST be reported to your doctor IMMEDIATELY. To offset the possibility of contracting peripheral neuropathy ... especially with doses above 20mg ... I would highly recommend supplements such as Coenzyme Q-10 and vitamin B-12. This is still no guarantee you won't contract it. Now, does the medicine live up to its promise? Yes, but at what price? There are a lot of studies being conducted on Lipitor and statins in general. The jury is still out on what it will do long term. I personally feel more time should have been spent studying this medicine. Doctors should watch their patients VERY closely ... especially with dosages over 20mg. Oh, one more thing, don't count on doctors doing it.

very good thank god for lipitor
Works well I take Lipitor for my cholesterol and was pleasantly surprised to find it helps with my MS symptoms. I was hesitant at first to take another drug but have been happy with this one.
The only disadvantage it the need for bloodwork every 3 months to check liver enzymes.
NOT GOOD I DEVELOPED SEVERE MUSCLE CRAMPS THAT I KNEW WAS NOT MY RA AND MY DR. CHANGED IT TO CRESTOR 10 MG. I HAVE HAD NO SIDE EFFECTS WITH THE CRESTOR. HOWEVER, I HAVE THREE SIBLINGS THAT TAKE LIPITOR WITH NO PROBLEMS WITH ONE HAVING USED IT FOR YEARS.
