After the initial three years, this drug has worked well for me ever since.

Was given a small initial dosage. Blood levels were checked weekly with the dosage being increased until the doctors decided the proper level needed was reached.

I voluntarily placed myself into a psych ward bc I was having thoughts of suicide. They placed me on lithium and it has worked very well for my manic bi-polar episodes. I do have tremors in my hands occasionally and my hair has fell out alot moreso than it used to and the weight gain is notorius. So as long as I can work through those issues im doing good. Which I am bc I dont ever want to feel like I did b4 I got help 4 sure.

I have just been diagnosed with the Bi-Polar condition. I was treated in a mental health inpatient facility, after slitting my wrist. I have a good experiance with the drug so far. A few side effects, but nothing I can't handle. I just hope that this is what will finally work for me.

I am a 50 yr old female and i have been on lithium for 9 yrs. for bipolar/depression and I feel it is right next to a miracle drug for me. If I miss a dose I can deffinately feel it 24 hrs. later. Goodluck~~~~C. Woods

My doctor thinks that I am bi-polar, I do know that I am depressed, my life has not been a happy one. I have issues with my mother who is now deceased. I really don't notice any difference except that my hair is falling out, I am always thirsty and I have more pimples now than I did as a teen-ager.

I have been on 1200mg a day of Lithium since 1985. It truly has saved my life-I am a productive, happy divorced mother of 4. I live alone and am able to do anything I want to thanks to this drug.
