Prevacid When I was prescribed Vioxx, I thought I was one of the lucky ones. I had no pain for almost six months and no side effects. I was wrong. I had small ulcers and a blood test proved that I was bleeding internally. I was taken immediately off Vioxx and started taking Prevacid 30 mg in the morning. I never realized that I was getting sick to my stomach like I was. I guess you just get used to some of the quirky things that Lupus brings. After three months of using the Prevacid, my hemaglobin levels were slowly climbing up. I was put on iron pills and the combination of the two got me back in a normal range after three more months. I stayed on Prevacid for one year to make sure that all was healed and then took them every other day for one month, then stopped all together.
I have no more ulcers and no longer need to take Prevacid. I have no H Pylori in my gut and I am thankful that my rheumatologist knew what to do right away.

Prevacid helps suppress my GERD and decreases my Barrett's Esophagus problems. I don't like it, it tastes nasty, smells nasty, feels nasty in my mouth, but by golly it does what they say it does, which is, it gives me some relief.

Prevacid I have been taking 30mg of Prevacid twice daily for over two years. If I reduce the strength it doesn't work. This dosage controls my acid reflux 80% of the time. The next step for me is surgery so I am very grateful for this medication.
